Under the loving care of Ms. Deonette, Discovery Tots – Southwood provides a warm, structured, and nurturing environment where children can learn, grow, and thrive.

Her licensed family dayhome is thoughtfully arranged with inviting indoor play and learning spaces, along with outdoor time built into the daily routine, giving children the chance to explore, discover, and play safely.

Conveniently located in the heart of Southwood, just off Elbow Drive SW, families benefit from easy curbside pickup and drop-off. Nearby parks, schools, and community amenities make this neighborhood especially family-friendly.

Licensed to care for up to six registered children at a time, Ms. Deonette ensures small group sizes and personalized attention. Each day is balanced with structured learning and free play, including activities from the Discovery Tots curriculum, storytime, crafts, music, outdoor play, and imaginative games such as building, puzzles, and role-play.

Enrichment opportunities such as the Puppy Program and Music Time with our in-house music teacher give children the chance to develop empathy, rhythm, creativity, and social skills in engaging ways.

Above all, Ms. Deonette’s dayhome provides a calm, caring, and consistent environment where children feel safe, supported, and inspired—and where parents have peace of mind knowing their little ones are in loving hands.

I opened Discovery Tots Southwood because I wanted to create a nurturing environment for children while also having the opportunity to work from home and maintain a flexible schedule. With 10 years of experience in the childcare industry and a Level 3 certification, I provide a caring and supportive space where children feel safe and valued.

My dayhome is special because of the love and care I give to every child. The children in my care are always happy and excited to come each day, and I strive to create a warm, welcoming environment where they feel comfortable and supported.

What I love most about working with children is building strong relationships with them and watching their growth and development. Seeing children learn new skills and gain confidence is incredibly rewarding and inspiring.

A little about me: I am passionate about teaching and caring for children. I enjoy watching them explore, learn new skills, and share their ideas through meaningful interactions.

One of my favourite beliefs about early childhood education is:
