Under the loving care of Ms. Jaci, Discovery Tots – Dalhousie provides a warm, structured, and nurturing environment where children can learn, grow, and thrive.

Her licensed family dayhome is thoughtfully arranged with dedicated indoor learning and play spaces, along with direct access to a large, fully fenced backyard for safe outdoor exploration year-round.

Conveniently located in the heart of Dalhousie, just off Dalhousie Drive NW, families benefit from easy curbside pickup and drop-off. Nearby parks, schools, and community amenities make this neighborhood especially family-friendly.

Licensed to care for up to six registered children at a time, Ms. Jaci ensures small group sizes and personalized attention. Each day is balanced with structured learning and free play, including activities from the Discovery Tots curriculum, storytime, crafts, music, outdoor play, and imaginative games such as building, puzzles, and role-play.

Enrichment opportunities such as the Puppy Program and Music Time with our in-house music teacher give children the chance to develop empathy, rhythm, creativity, and social skills in engaging ways.

I opened Discovery Tots Dalhousie because I wanted to provide a nurturing, safe, and enriching environment where children could feel at home while learning and growing. I envisioned a space where both parents and children feel supported—a place that balances structure with warmth, and education with play. For me, it’s more than childcare; it’s about building a small community rooted in trust, care, and early learning.

I bring almost 10 years of experience in child care and hold a Level 2 Early Childhood Education certification. My experience has taught me how to create a warm, structured, and engaging environment where children receive the personal attention they need to thrive.

My dayhome is special because children feel truly at home. I focus on learning through play, creativity, and kindness, and I work closely with families to support each child’s growth. It’s a place where kids are happy, confident, and cared for like family.

What I love most about working with children is seeing the world through their eyes—full of wonder, curiosity, and joy. I cherish the little moments: their laughter, hugs, and the excitement when they learn something new. Helping them feel safe, supported, and confident is the most rewarding part of my day.

A little about me: I enjoy sharing my cultural background through songs, stories, and traditions from the Philippines, giving children a chance to learn about the world in fun and simple ways. I also love baking, spending time outdoors, and bringing creativity into every activity—from making homemade playdough to going on nature walks and celebrating special days together.

One of my favourite quotes about early childhood education is from Fred Rogers:

“Play is the work of childhood.”

I believe children learn best through play—it’s how they explore, imagine, and understand the world. My goal is to create a space where every child feels safe, loved, and free to be themselves.

I provide consistent communication with parents, offer healthy snacks, and maintain flexible hours to meet the needs of each family, ensuring every child feels supported, happy, and celebrated.
